The wines are hand-chosen by credible master wine sommeliers who also were tasked with selecting the magazine cover that they feel best represents the flavor and taste profile of each wine.
Participating wineries produce a limited run of up to 550 bottles per series; vineyards include Gargiulo Money Road Cabernet Sauvignon, St. Supery’s famed Dollarhide Cabernet Sauvignon, Schug Estate Heritage Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, RODA Cirsiron, Tenuta Sette Ponti Oreno, and other highly sought after wines.
The entire collection will be available in September via one-year subscription for $1,567 at www.personalwine.com/playboy and www.playboywines.com. The series will also be sold at select fine wine retailers in the United States. The wines will retail individually at $90 to $380 a bottle.
“This wine series is a culmination of ultra-premium, limited-allocation wines and Playboy’s classic pictorial cover images dating from the 1960’s,” states Alex Andrawes, CEO of Pervino. “This collaboration demonstrates an admiration of wine and artistic talent of both wine makers from the world’s highest-echelon wineries and Playboy’s photographers and cover models.
