Why Motorcycles are Cool?

You don't have to have a degree in mechanical engineering to understand why motorcycles are cool. When you hear that deep roar of the motorcycle starting up, you just know. There's no doubt in your mind that they are not just cool, but somehow the person driving it has also stepped up in the cool category.
In addition to the addictive sound of the motorcycle, there are a few other reasons why motorcycles are so cool. Here are a few of them:

• History The first clue to the coolness of motorcycles is the fact that they've been around for a long time. Nothing cool comes without a storied past. The first motorcycle was actually built in 1868. Although it looked much different than the hogs we see on the roads today, it still had some cool elements, including a steam engine and hand-grip throttle control.
  Today, motorcycles are made by various manufacturers with even cooler features than could have been imagined in 1868. But motorcycle riders are proud of the vehicle's rich history and they carry on that legacy as they ride.
• Danger If the powerful engine doesn't make you wonder how these things are built, try thinking about actually riding one. (If you ever get the chance, be sure to take a mechanicsí course, you'll be blown away at what goes into the process of making a motorcycle.) Out on the open road, those on the motorcycle are unprotected from the air, other cars and anything else the elements bring. Unlike those who are sitting pretty in their heated or air-conditioned cars, those on a motorcycle have a closeness to danger.
  But it's this danger that allures nearly every motorcycle rider out there. It's a type of freedom that's become synonymous with strength and power on that is envied by many men and quite a lot of women, too. Plus, there's no doubt that danger is cool in our society.
• Adventure Almost every movie with a cool character ends with him or her riding off into the night on a motorcycle. Although anyone can take a drive along the coast or explore the world in a car, a motorcycle offers a passion for the road, and an overall passion for adventure that can't be found in any other motivation. Naturally, adventure equals cool because it's something that is universally pined for.
